Groupings

Our camps follow a timetabled structure concentrating on the technical, tactical, physical and mental elements of Tennis, alongside other multi-sport activities and competition throughout. At the end of each week there is a Team and individual competition in which prizes and certificates can be won!

All Kids are split into 3 Groups:

RED Under 7 years. 10am - 4pm

The colours are in relation to the type of ball used. Red balls are bigger and softer than a standard ball, and therefore used for younger beginners. The colours then progress to harder, higher bouncing balls in order of Orange, Green and then Yellow. In exceptional circumstances, a player can play up to another group at the coaches’ discretion.

Things to Remember

Although we provide great facilities for all the kids who attend it is important for them to remember the following:

β€’ Non-marking Tennis Trainers.
β€’ Sports clothing: T-shirt, shorts with pockets, trousers, jacket/hoodie & a hat in hot weather.
β€’ Water bottle for the day (water is available for purchase & refill).
β€’ Tennis Racket – Can be provided if they don’t have one.
β€’ Sun cream.
β€’ Money to purchase drinks & snacks.
β€’ Packed Lunch (drinks & snacks are sold separately in the Clubhouse).

As British weather can be particularly unpredictable, please remember to bring clothing for wet/dry & hot/cold weather. Camps will not be cancelled due to bad weather with exception to settled snow.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Clubhouse will be closed to all players. You can use the Clubhouse for bathroom facilities, refilling water and purchasing takeaway food/drink items. Social distancing must be adhered to throughout the day.

Friday is a Competition/Tournament day where prizes & certificates are given out during an award ceremony. Prizes are given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, Most Improved Player, Sportsmanship Prize and Certificates for Participation!
